The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has stated that the federal government, through the federal inland revenue service (FIRS), has sent an additional N30 billion to each state governor of the federation to address the rising cost of living in their states.
Akpabio, speaking at one of the Red Chamber’s plenary sessions, stated that the money for state governors differ from their monthly allocations.
He also made it plain that the monies should be used solely to address the situation of insufficient food supplies, warning against repurposing them for extraneous purposes.
According to him, the funds were remitted from FIRS to the state governors.
